Well, the money's come in, so that's great. It means ... the banking system worked! We'll be able to pay the MoonRats (the Editors) and Saker (the Tarsos) and the printers and, yes, even our own selves. That's good.
Quick Layout Update
Ok, quick news from the layout mines. We're at 59 pages of 192 on the initial layout. The entire rules section has been restructured from the initial free version and the manuscript, which was pretty much the biggest task. The Violet City is now also completely laid out (well, except for art, because that goes in last, after the final proofreading pass)—and in some way it serves as a tutorial location, explaining some mechanics, like carousing, addiction, hiring hench-humans, and so forth. Subsequent locations are shorter and faster to layout (phew!).
At present we give it 30% odds that Luka finishes the layout of the whole book by this Sunday, and ships it off to the MoonRats a week early. It's quite a task, though, because—not least—28 misfortune tables are getting a reformat into a single roll table, and at least three more cities require their own carousing tables!
Meanwhile, A Small Surprise
A few backers were very insistent that they would utterly love a desktop wallpaper to go with their UVG. Having listened, at least a little, and been quite tired with layout, Luka made one!
Finally, the backer kit add-ons and bonus pre-orders are closing soon. If you want to convince some friends to buy the book, or just add more strange dice to their bulging dice hordes, this is very nearly the last chance. For the stratometaship patreon backers, we planned a discount on the shipping, but that turned out not to work, so ... if you're a stratometaship hero and didn't see the update earlier today, we've developed a rube-goldbergesque solution that will ... leave you shaking your head but getting a shipping rebate. It's truly awfully convoluted. Kind of amazing in an "are you joking?" way.

Back in the update business
It's been a crazy few days. Kickstarter finishes, wow! Setting up backerkit, huh?! Luka gets sick, cough. Mixup with shipping rates on add-ons, oh no! New unexpected purple-yellow dice combo, yay!
If it has seemed like a hectic time from the outside, we can confirm that in the back rooms and boiler rooms and bunker workshops of WTF Studio and Exalted Funeral we've also been hard at work. Exalted's been a little quieter recently because while celebrating the successful conclusion of the UVG kickstarter ... celebration fluids ruined their phone. That'll get fixed soon.
Now, the Layout News
Vomes and Ultras are now playable factions ... well, I mean they have some rules to go with them.
The UVG is now laid out up to page 42 of 192—that's just over a fifth of the book. Luka is combining laying out the text with reviewing the edited content. Ideally he'd have done all this a few weeks ago, but we're fine. The whole text should be laid out in two weeks (around May 10th), at which point the document is heading out to the MoonRats for a ten-day proofreading and indexing pass.
During that time, Luka's going to color feverishly, so he can insert all the art and spot art by the end of May. He'll probably keep you appraised with small updates throughout ... but this is how the timeline is looking now:
First Layout: 2 weeks left [22% complete]
Proofreading + Coloring: 2 weeks
Final Layout: 2 weeks [end of May 2019]
Printing book: 8–10 weeks [June–July 2019]
Layout + proofread map for print: 4 days [June 2019]
Hiring someone to help Exalted Funeral with all the shipping: $_$
Shipping: 2 weeks
Matt's Metal Mountain Meditation for 6 minutes and 66 seconds, even if we didn't reach the silly stretch goal: 6 minutes and 66 seconds + 2 hours hiking [September 2019]
A Small Thank You
Luka is sharing working layout previews of the UVG on the stratometaship discord (linked to the WTF Patreon), and a few folks have been kind enough to share typos they've found. This is a great help. Thank you.
The Next Few Updates
From the WTF Studio side they're going to be pretty art-light, because it's all layout and graphics work. For the next project we're planning to bring someone on board as a design partner, so Luka can spend more time illustrating and writing versus pre-print.

Hey everyone the the shipping issue should be fixed now and the prices correct.
Surveys have been sent, if you did not receive one you should shortly. They are staggered so not all go out all at once. Check your spam folders in case. If by the middle of the week you have not got one contact us at [email protected] and we can send one to you.
Patreon subscribers we are still working on it. I will have something for you tomorrow.
For immediate and real time updates please follow us on twitter. The rest of the correspondence should flow along at regular intervals.
Once again, we wont be able to combine items from the store with your UVG products. The leftover items will be available after production on the site but the way we are doing fulfillment and how the funds are distributed means that this isn't an option. We apologize and know that combining shipping, especially to non stateside customers, would really help but we just have to keep everything separate.
Please be patient, we are excited too!, with correspondence. I will try to get to everyone inside 24 hours as best as possible.

Somewhere Far Beyond...proper shipping rates

Exalted Funeral here faithful,
We see that there is an issue with the shipping to some (or maybe all) EU countries. At this time we are unsure if is something with the survey or some sort of clerical mistake on our end. Whatever it is we will get a solution for you all. We have reached out to Backerkit but will most likely have more information by Monday afternoon or Tuesday.
But those incorrect prices are ones coming from the US, so the rate should be smaller.

This is gonna be a quick update to answer a couple of questions that we are getting a lot of everywhere.
Will we be able to add item X from your store to our UVG pledge?
No, the nature of how money is tied to all respective companies involved makes this an impossibility.
I missed the kickstarter, can I make an order or arrangement?
Not tied tied to KS, we will have some remaining copies of the standard books available to purchase at www.exaltedfuneral.com AND those very gracious retailers who pledged will have it in there shops. The other items we cannot say how many or (more than likely) even IF any will be available post fulfillment.
We can we expect surveys?
Very soon, hoping to finalize them by Wednesday, we are ensuring everything is correct via Backerkit first.
